Head of Marketing Communications

In a Nutshell:

The Head of Communications is a strategic, analytical, and highly collaborative leader who will be critical in managing our brand strategy, increasing brand awareness, enhancing our story-telling, and managing our reputation in a measurable and metrics-driven manner. In addition, this person has experience in leading and cultivating strong teams. Once hired, you will craft the company brand including a complete brand book, brand manifesto and promise, and all brand assets/collateral.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a fast-paced B2C tech/telco environment and will have a track record of having built compelling brands in high-growth environments. Ultimately, we are looking for gifted storytellers, with a deep sense of curiosity and orientation towards learning. To fill this role, you should be passionate about working with fast-growth startups, connect with our purpose and have the ability to craft stories that emphasize the impact we bring to our user’s lives. The incumbent should be a strategic, creative thinker, with strong media relationships in the US/Western Europe being a major plus. 

You will be responsible for all of PureVPN’s external communications, including PR, social media, influencers, executive comms, and media. Our brand has a long history in the space, and we are looking to reinvigorate our story while working in a rapidly changing, fast-growth environment. This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Once you are here, you will:

  • Create and deliver global communications plans that drive long-term brand building and deliver on business goals across public relations, social media, community engagement, content strategy, corporate and internal communications
  • Lead our product and corporate communications working in partnership with our Product Marketing teams
  • Lead our social media strategy and provide governance across all social media channels
  • Create campaigns around product launches and key themes that are pillars of our brand
  • Lead and manage our Global PR strategy
  • Measure and report on Marketing Communications contributions to the company goals and OKRs
  • Establish an executive communications function

  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated track record in growing media presence for B2C companies.
  • Strategic thinker with experience crafting business positioning in an environment of rapid growth

  • Familiarity with crisis communication
  • Experience running communications in multiple regions
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • 7+ years leading related functions
  • Excellent people leadership and mentorship skills
  • Experience collaborating with executives, as well product, partnerships, marketing, and legal teams
  • Bachelors and/or a Masters in Marketing, Communication, Journalism or related fields
