The Security Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring security of the organization's digital assets. Responsible for implementing, and maintaining security solutions, this role aligns with business needs and industry standards. Key responsibilities include monitoring security events, handling security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and providing security awareness training to staff. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential aspects of the role. Proactively monitor incidents and events using the SIEM and other monitoring solutions.
Analyze events, logs, and detection patterns to investigate malicious activity.
Report and notify relevant teams of any anomalies detected on their assets.
Ensure all assets within the scope of SIEM are integrated and reporting on the dashboard.
Monitor the overall health of SIEM and other security monitoring tools, resolving identified errors promptly.
Assist in reporting and investigation of security incidents or potential anomalous events.
Maintain logs and document identified security events and their resolutions as per Security Incident Management Process.
Review threat feeds from known sources and blogs, analyzing their relevance for internal threat monitoring.
Operate tools, products, and platforms under the administration of Business Security, including IAM, SIEM, Vulnerability Management Tools, AWS security tools, etc.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information security.
2 to 3 years of experience in information security operations.
Certifications such as CySA+, Security+, CEH, or equivalent are a plus.Experienced in security operations and incident response.
Exhibits proficiency in using and managing SIEM and other security monitoring tools.
Hands-on experience in assessing and implementing security controls on linux and windows operating systems
Understands security risks of cloud assets and their controls
Posses knowledge of common application threat and vulnerabilities and methods for safeguarding applications against exploitation.
Displays strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understands ISO27001 statndard and its complaince requirementThe role requires a proactive approach to stay updated with emerging threats, security technologies, and best practices. Continuous improvement initiatives are essential to enhance the effectiveness of security operations and incident response processes.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to implement security controls, address vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents promptly.
The role involves working closely with technoloy teams, compliance professionals, and other stakeholders to achieve security objectives.
The organization adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to information security, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, etc. Compliance with these standards and regulations is a key aspect of the role.
